Beauty...We deserve to be present and appreciative of its Power in Our Lives.

Beauty, What is it?

Do a Google search for Beauty and you find images like:
and

Wikipedia says that beauty "...is a characteristic of a person, animal, place, object, or idea that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure, meaning, or satisfaction."

Dictionary.com defines it as "...the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest)."

And Webster's Dictionary: the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit.

...mmmm....Exalts the mind or spirit! YES! I LOVE this language. I can connect with this as EXALTATION resonates for this chiquita! How about you? Do you find yourself gazing at a site of such beauty that it resonates deeply with you and you find you are EXALTED? Oh, yes?? Wonderful!

One thing for sure is, the more present you are in this moment, the more likely you are to see and appreciate and allow yourself the joyously wonderful vacation that exalting in beauty can be.

The whole Stop Sign Thing...you know the one, right? Where you use Stop Signs as tools in keeping you present and fully conscious throughout your days...right? A stop sign is no longer just a stop sign. Now, for those of us who wish to practice living mindfully it is a Stop. Breathe. and Smile Sign. Okay? Now you remember? LOL

Okay, so the whole Stop Sign Thing, when we live ultimately in this moment...this one that packs all of our power...we are much MUCH more likely to find exaltation in Beauty! Be it a wondrous site like a sunset that sweeps the cloud with broad paintbrush strokes of lavender and pink, purple and gold...or if it's the graceful, sweeping lines of our lover's throat and shoulders as they lie naked, smiling.

Being present...is a present to us. Exaltation?? Wow! What a gift, right?? Unwrap it and you get a deep soul buzz that doesn't stop. Every time you, being fully and consciously present, think back upon that image, the exalted feeling returns...and along with it usually a smile.

But...that said, memories of beauty are not with us in the present. They are memories. When we are present, we open our eyes and see beauty everywhere we look. Seriously. It's all around us.

Where do you see beauty when YOU are present? Won't you share it here? I'd love to see all the varieties and subtleties of the perception of beauty.

Wake up and smell the present and feel your body remaining young as you become more full of present moment awareness. And..if you're feeling it but you just aren't quite soaking it in, try reading "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle for further insights and a wonderful exploration into soul and self and joyfully being present in the now and the exciting benefits doing so has for us!

What is beautiful to you?

Love and Laughter,
heidi
